Mikumi, with our own guides
We don’t hand you to an outside operator. Camp Lilac has its own guides and 4×4s, so your game drives start at the camp, run on your schedule, and end with dinner facing the Mikumi mountain ridge.

Why Mikumi is the easy safari
Mikumi National Park is the closest big-game park to Dar es Salaam and the simplest to reach from Zanzibar. Part of the Nyerere (Selous) ecosystem, it has elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos and over 400 bird species, on open floodplain where animals are easy to see. There are no crowds — on most drives you will have the sightings to yourself.
Park fees are among Tanzania’s lowest, and because the camp is minutes from the gate you spend your time in the park, not driving to it. Read the full Mikumi guide or how to get here.
